House Numbers - Their Hidden Meaning
from admin on 01/22/2017 10:11 AMBy Thomas Muldoon
As a Numerologist I've been asked numerous times by friends, students, clients, listener's to my radio appearances and by those moving from one residence to another what their house number means. Moving house can be a very traumatic experience or, a very liberating one, and numbers offer a clue as to whether you've made the right choice or the wrong one! Now, after 30 years working with Numerology I want to share some of this knowledge with you and ask you to reduce your house number to a single digit i.e.: 19 would become 10 then become 1 (1+9=10, 1+0 = 1) and see what Numerology has to offer you regarding the place you call home.
One proviso: If living in a flat or unit consider this: The number affects you and those who live with you and the number of the block affects everyone in the building including you! Don't add all the numbers of your address (i.e.: 3/123) and reduce them to a single digit consider what I've said above and piece the information together like a jigsaw puzzle and you'll come to understand more about where you live than you've ever imagined for believe it or not the place you live or about to move into has chosen you! If you follow this simple instruction we'll be on the 'same page.'
House Number One: This number usually means having to contend with many family responsibilities and not always happy ones! You'll often feel alone whilst living here so make sure you have interesting hobbies to occupy your mind. This house number attracts Leos and is linked to the Sun in Astrology and all things to do with 5th house affairs.
House Number Two: Welfare programs, social work and community involvement will demand a lot of your time. Cancerian's are drawn to this number as are those with a connection with Scotland! Number 2 is linked to the Moon in Astrology and all matters to do with the 4th sector of your Astrological Chart.
House Number Three: Travel and adventure are the keywords for this number. Ambitious people are drawn here as well as people who take risks, gamblers in particular. Sagittarians and pets are attracted to this address as well as those connected to the legal profession, connected to the planet Jupiter and the 9th house in Astrology.
House Number Four: This is the most unpredictable of all the house numbers with one crisis after another. Expect your life to move in a completely different direction from what you had in mind if moving in here! Aquarians will enter your life (you may be one yourself!) and linked to the planet Uranus in Astrology and the 11th sector of the chart.
House Number Five: Living here is like living in a hotel - expect all sorts of comings and goings at all hours of the day and night. Gemini's and Virgo's are attracted to this number, linked to the planet Mercury and the 3rd and 6th sector of your Astrological Chart. Look after your skin and make sure all food is prepared in the cleanest of environments. Keep insurance policies up-to-date and all cash under lock and key.
House Number Six: You'd better have a green thumb as this number demands greenery! When you move into this address unpack everything you own for you're going to be here for a long time (well it'll feel like that) for this is a number of stability. Linked to the planet Venus in Astrology with Taurean's and Libran's attracted to this number, linked with the 2nd and 7th sector of the zodiac.
House Number Seven: A strange number which may even be a bit spooky, even to being actually haunted by the memories of the previous occupants! Check the water table and the area for flooding, as well as the pipes for leaks. Piscean's are drawn and benefit from living at this address, linked to the planet Neptune and associated with the 12th sector of the zodiac.
House Number Eight: Older people live here and even if you're young you'll be or become mature in your thinking. Clocks are often a hobby of those who live here and time will fascinate you even to the concept of reincarnation! Check the foundations of this house there's usually a few hidden problems that'll need your attention or, save you money before you purchase of move in. Capricorn's will find this a lucky address and linked to the planet Saturn along with 10th house of the zodiac.
House Number Nine: This is the number of the 'battler.' Don't invite the family around for too many gatherings; you'll end up having the usual arguments! Problems with neighbours also are likely! Aries and Scorpios are drawn to this number and associated with the 1st and 8th sector of the zodiac (Mars and Pluto).

Re: Talismans
from admin on 01/11/2017 01:23 AMA SPELL TO HEAL AND TO EMPOWER A TALISMAN
Timing between the New and Full Moon
Gather together these things which can be found easily in a store cupboard or any local shop.
-I red candle ( Healing strength)
-I black candle (absorb baneful illness. If you cannot get a black candle cover another red candle
with a thick black felt pen.) A quartz crystal pendant or any pendant with a stone that you feel
drawn to give your friend or a stone or crystal. A tiger's eye or any pretty stone is fine.
-Olive or any vegetable oil. Pinch of dried or fresh rosemary
Pinch of dried or fresh thyme A photo or something belonging to the sick person or full
name and birthdate. A paper doll in a easily drawn shape like a gingerbread biscuit figure.
On the front draw a small circle where the illness has struck to represent it.
Color this black. On the back write their name and birthdate.
Incense ( Optional.) Sandalwood, Rosemary, Lemon, Pine,
Myrrh or any other you feel invokes a healing smell.
Small bowl of rain, distilled or mineral water. Salt. (Sea salt if possible.)
Pin to inscribe candles Lighter, ashtray and a snuffer or thimble for candles.
THE DAY BEFORE:
Place pendant or stone in a sunny place and charge it with sunlight.
Leave it under the moonlight over night. In an egg cup or small container, mix
a tablespoon of olive or vegetable oil with some powdered thyme or rosemary
and leave in the sun and then overnight to infuse. Strain through some muslin
or a tea strainer and use to dress and anoint the candles. (Doing this charges
them with your personal vibrations and links them to your magic.)
Make a paper doll as shown above. Find a small table or box to serve as an altar,
cover with a clean white cloth and arrange the candles herbs and other spell components.
Getting Into The Mood:
Just before Spell to prepare yourself mentally, spiritually and physically
TAKE A RITUAL BATH:
Components: Place a pinch of three of the following kitchen herbs
(which are used for healing), into a muslin bag or the cut off foot
of a pair of tights; Rosemary, thyme. peppermint, bay or mint leaves.
Tie this under the tap as the hot water runs in and add two tablespoons of salt or bath salts.
(Optional add six drops of blue food coloring and a citrus perfume like lemon.)
Play gentle music and think about your friend and what you want to accomplish for her.
Immerse yourself. Dry off and dress in a clean white robe.
I use a white linen shirt my husband never wore.
Some prefer to do this sort of thing sky-clad or naked.
SPELLWORKING:
Go to a quiet and private place where you will not be disturbed.
Focus on your intent to help and heal.
Raise energy by using your emotions and visualizing a stream of blue-white light from
your index finger, wand or Athame. Cast a Circle in your usual way and call the Quarters.
(This can be omitted if you find it difficult.)
Inscribe the black candle with the pin with the name of the illness or write "Baneful illness.."
Inscribe the red candle with your friends name and birthdate. Add any healing symbols you like.
Dress the candle with herbal oil you made. Massage it from the middle outwards to the ends of
the black candle to "banish" and massage the red candle by doing it from the ends of the
candle to the middle to invite healing power. Light the red candle only and then the Incense
Visualize The Goddess in her Crone aspect. You might use the Morrigan or Brigid
As you anoint the black candle chant:
"Shrink and die oh cancerous bane, And take with you any pain! "
Do this three times each time chant louder until you are yelling out in anger the last line of
"TAKE AWAY ANY PAIN..."
Invoking Chant:
"Dark Mother aid me and assist my fight
To destroy bane and sickness in my friend this night
Sever it's power as swift as a knife
To save a maiden in the morning of her life
May nothing evil return to me
I seal this spell and as I ask so shall it be...."
Take up the Paper doll made to look like your friend and pass it over the flame of the black
candle and through the incense smoke.. Rub salt on your fingers and then add a pinch to
the bowl of rain water. Stir water with index finger and say:
"Elements of air, earth , water and of fire, witness this rite,
I ask you to help me with a healing tonight;
I consecrate this holy water to the Triple Gods and Goddesses of both Earth Sun and Moon.....
I come tonight to ask of thee a boon...
By your ancient powers come to my aid
Carry the magic I have made!"
Hold up the figure, sprinkle it lightly with the Holy water and say three times :
I name thee ---- may all thy sickness and any thoughts of self-harm,
be burnt away and be forever gone!"
Now light the paper doll from the black candle and let it burn in the ashtray.
Continue the chant louder and louder three times so you finish with a loud
shout to carry away the spell to the Cosmos.
Snuff out the black candle This must be buried in earth away from your home
at the end of the spell and never used again.
Light the red candle. Take the charged pendant and or stone and hold it in your power
hand (the one you write with) Focus on all the love and feelings of friendship you have for
your friend and see her as well and happy. As you do this see the Goddess is her younger
aspect of a nurturing and loving mother.
Invoking Chant: Say 3x3
"Brigid , Goddess of Fire and Great Earth Mother, I ask this boon of thee!
Empower this pendant/stone as a Talisman and powerful charm
To guard --------name---- of all hurt and harm.."
Great and merciful mother a child of yours has need of your care;
Name ------ is ill and in despair
On this night and at this hour,
I call on the Ancient Healing Power;
To send the strength of the love of her friends to thee.
I ask by your merciful magic and my will so mote it be!"
Take the power of all the emotions within you and in your mind's eye see streams of
blue-white light flowing down your arm and from the tips of your fingers into the "Talisman"
you have empowered for your friend. Pour into it all the love you feel for her and the love
of all her concerned friends, tell her to hold it or wear it when she is feeling weak or sad to
remind herself of all her caring and loving friends.
Give your friend the pendant/stone which is now a healing Talisman filled with the power of
your love and friendship for her. If others want to help then incorporate their power into it as well.
If you Cast a Circle then dismiss the Quarters and thank them for attending your spell working.
Thank the Goddesses invoked for their assistance politely. Close the circle by visualizing it as
dissipating into the floor in your usual way.
Let the red candle burn out if you desire. Bury the black one separately in the earth
with any ashes from the ashtray.
You can adapt this spell and chants for different people , ages and illnesses.

Talismans
from admin on 01/11/2017 01:20 AMTo Empower a Talisman
A ritual to empower an object or talisman.
You will need:
- The object you wish to empower
- A stick or cone of pungent incense (of your choice)
- A small container of fresh rainwater
Form a small mound of soil or sand on the ground and place the object on the top of the mound. The mound only needs to be large enough to support the object.
Place the object on the mound, then sprinkle the rainwater in a circle around the mound, making a complete circle three times.
Light the incense and allow the smoke from the incense to rise and then begin fanning the smoke over and around the talisman. As you fan smoke over and around the object, generate and focus on thoughts of your objective or desire—that which you wish to reach through the power of the talisman, amulet, gri-gri, or other object you are now consecrating for that determined purpose.
Repeat the following words aloud as you continue to pass the object through the smoke:
Seven spirits, carriers of the powers of the seventh star,
Guardians of the seventh door, whose names remain unspoken,
I entreat you, in the silence of your seven names,
To grant me the whole of my request, and in this thing,
I beg your attention and power that no wish be left unheard,
That no sight, go by unseen,
In your care, I lay my trust that thus it may be done.
When you have finished, extinguish the incense. Your object is now charged and devoted.

Using Astrological Timing to Enhance Magickal Workings
from admin on 01/09/2017 02:38 AMWorkings
by Gaia Losna
This article originally appeared in Raven's Call Magazine Volume 1, Number 3
Most people of pagan or magickal inclinations know that the phases of the Moon are important to the timing of magickal workings. And most people know that there are various correspondences one can use in magickal workings, such as elemental correspondences or color correspondences. But many people do not know that by refining the astrological timing, particularly by using the Moon's phases and transits correctly, you can greatly empower your magickal workings and increase their effectiveness.
What is meant by ' refining the astrological timing? Basically it means taking into account not only the Moon's phase and the particular sign it is in, but also the aspects the Moon may be making to other planets, both in your natal (birth) chart and in the heavens on that day, especially aspects to a planet who's rulership governs the result you wish to obtain through your working. You can take this refinement a step further by also timing your working so that the Moon is moving through the particular House in your natal chart that is most closely related to what you are trying to achieve.
Now, obviously this last refinement in particular requires that you have a copy of your natal chart to refer to. If you don't already have one, you can usually get one fairly easily from either a local astrologer or through various online astrological services. Besides your date of birth, you do need to know the time you where born and where. Alternatively, there are some astrology programs that are fairly inexpensive but can still produce a natal chart that will work just fine for determining timing elements. One program I have used for several years is called Expert Astrologer by Expert Software, and at the time I bought it, it retailed for around $12.95. The natal chart that "Expert Astrologer" produced for me was only a few astrological minutes off on some of the planetary positions when compared to a chart that had been prepared on a $200 program. These slight discrepancies in the chart usually make very little difference when you use the chart to figure out astrological timings.
The first, and probably most important aspect of timing, and the easiest to figure out, is the phase of the Moon. Basically, the waxing phase (from just after New Moon to just at Full Moon) is the time for doing workings for growth, increase, action, fertility, abundance, starting things, planting seeds (physical or spiritual), planting above ground crops, building, bringing together, summoning and binding. The waning phase (from just after Full Moon to just at New Moon) is the time for banishing (negative aspects of oneself, things or people), things that need to remain secret, ending things, sending away, decrease, dieting, harvesting, planting below ground crops, and reaction. So, for example, if you want to do a magickal working to increase prosperity and abundance for yourself or your family, you will need to do that working when the Moon is in its waxing phase. On the other hand, if your working is to help banish negativity from your life, you will need to perform the working during the waning Moon.
Any good astrological calendar or planetary guide will show you the Moon phases and the exact times of the Full Moon, New Moon and other phases, as well as the movements of the other planets. A word of advice though - not all astrological calendars guides are created equal! Make sure the one you are using is either listing times for your rime zone or else be sure to calculate for the difference. For example, one well-known publisher of astrological calendars uses U.S. Central Time Zone for all its timings. If you live on the West Coast of the United States, as I do, the times will all be two hours ahead. Thus, if this calendar says the Moon is full at 9:00 p.m., it would really be full at 7:00 p.m. on the West Coast. If you live on the East Coast, the Full Moon would be at 10:00 p.m. You either have to compensate for these time difference up front or you can try to find a calendar or pocket guide that is geared to your time zone. One of the best I have found that uses Pacific Time Zone as their basis are Jim Maynard's Celestial Guides. I have used his Pocket Astrologer for many years now. It is very small (4 1/4" x 5 1/2") and I carry it with me at all times in my purse or backpack. Most planetary guides also show the various major planetary aspects each day and many have an ephemeris in the back (a chart showing the daily positions of each planet).
So, the most basic timing element for magickal workings is the phase of the Moon. The next element to be aware of is to avoid a void-of-course Moon (this information is in most astrological calendars or pocket guides). The Moon is said to be "void of course" when it has made its last aspect to another planet in a sign and it does not make any further aspects to any planet until it moves into the next sign. This period can last a few minutes or a few days, depending where the other planets are. It's like the Moon is "biding its time" in a sign, waiting to move on. It's not that a void-of-course Moon is bad, it's just that during a void of course Moon actions can produce unexpected results and things can take off in unexpected directions. Not quite as difficult as Mercury retrograde but still unpredictable. However, a void-of-course Moon can be a good time for workings of a subjective, spiritual or non-materialistic nature.
The next refinement to consider is what Zodiacal sign the Moon is in. The Moon moves into a new sign about every two to two-and-a-half days. After working with Moon signs for awhile you will come to learn the "flavor" the Moon takes on as it transits each sign. For instance, if you are doing a working for family peace and harmony, you wouldn't want to perform that working if the Moon was in Scorpio or Aries. Moon in Libra would be good for this kind of working.
Then, going a step further, you can look at the aspects the Moon is making to other planets in the heavens. Sextiles, trines and most conjunctions are beneficial aspects. Squares and oppositions are difficult or challenging aspects. So, for example, if you are doing a working for prosperity it's better not to do it if the Moon is opposite or square to Jupiter. But the timing would be beneficial if the Moon is trine or sextile to Jupiter.
The next refinement you can use is to time your working so that the Moon is moving through the particular House of your natal chart that governs the ultimate outcome of your working. You will need to be familiar with what areas of life each House rules. If it is a working for prosperity and abundance, you would want to time it so the Moon is moving through your Second House, for the Second House rules material possessions, finances, prosperity, etc. If it is a working for physical healing, the Moon should ideally be moving through your Sixth House, for health and physical healing come under the Sixth House's rulership.. Since the Moon changes signs about every two to two-and-a-half days, if you miss its transit through a particular House one month, you would only have to wait until the next month to try again for this particular timing.
Taking this one step further, you can also time your working so that a particular planet is moving through the appropriate House of your natal chart. However, this usually is only practical for the faster moving planets, such as Mercury, Venus, the Sun or Mars due to the length of time it takes the other planets to move through each sign (Jupiter takes a year to move from one sign to another, Saturn two years or more, Uranus about seven years, and so on). For example, performing a magickal working for attracting the appropriate mate for oneself would be greatly empowered if it was timed for when Venus (which rules love, attraction, and beauty) was moving through your natal 7th House (which rules marriage, unions, partnership).
However, you should avoid using planetary transits as a timing tool if the particular planet you wish to use is in a "retrograde" movement. A planet is said to be retrograde when, due to the Earth's particular orbit, it appears to be moving backward in a Zodiacal sign. Most people are familiar with the periods of "Mercury retrograde" and its chaotic effect on communications of all kinds. Retrogrades are almost always considered negative in effect, causing chaos and unpredictability in the outcome of things. The Sun and Moon never move retrograde but all the other planets are capable of it. Mercury goes retrograde the most frequently; however, the outer planets are often retrograde for very long periods of time. So, it's best to avoid working with a planet and its energy when it is moving retrograde.
Finally, if you want to refine the timing even more, it means starting your working at the appropriate planetary hour for it. Planetary hours are an ancient system developed by the Chaldeans. Under the planetary hour system, the day is divided up into 24 planetary hours starting with sunrise and sunset. Planetary hours are calculated based on latitude, local sunrise and sunset times and local mean time correction, so they vary from place to place. There are some good books out that explain fairly simply how you can figure out the planetary hours based on your location. However, there are also books that show a generic table of planetary hours. You can use this but be aware it is more accurate if you calculate them out yourself, using your particular latitude, the local sunrise and sunset times and utilizing your local mean time correction (you can get your local mean time correction from a local astrologer, the library or even a local weatherman!).
There is also a simple Kabbalistic way of figuring the basic Planetary Hours. Only 7 planets are used in this system and they have a planetary order - Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, Sun, Venus, Mercury and Moon (in descending order based on the length of time it takes each one to move through the Zodiac). Planetary hours begin at dawn, and the first hour after dawn is ruled by the planet of the day (i.e., Sun - Sunday, Moon - Monday, etc.). Now, no matter which day of the week you start with, if you start with the "Planet of the Day" and keep to this planetary order, you will end up with the hours all in order.
As you can see, all this can get very involved.
But each step you take in further refining the timing of your magickal working hones the focus of that working and empowers it that much more. Combining these elements of astrological timing with the correct elemental and/or color correspondences helps to further focus your intent and your will, thereby assisting you in manifesting what you wish to bring about by your working.

xxv. Spread thy feet apart and assume thou the form... xxvi. When the Sacred Hexagram shineth within thee... Traditionally the Hexagram symbolizes the Unity of Opposites and the Balance of the Four Elements. The Four Elements result from the Opposition of Activity (Fire, Forma, Sulphur, Spiritus) and Receptivity (Water, Materia, Quicksilver, Anima). In Alchemical terms, it is the Fluid Fire (Water makes Fire nonburning, and so Air-like) and Fiery Fluid (Fire makes Water stable, and so Earth-like). In other words, the Celestial Fire stabilizes (draws up) the Watery Abyss to yield the Way of the Earth, and the Watery Abyss tames (draws down) the Celestial Fire to yield the Way of the Air. (See Burckhardt, pp. 74-75.) The Hexagram shining within the Body (Salt) signifies the Perfect Union of Spirit (Sulphur) and Soul (Mercury), which is the "Living Gold," the goal of Spiritual Alchemy. That is, the Celestial and Chthonic Worlds meet in the Mundane World. xxvij. The Pentagram signifieth the Microcosm... Kircher (Arithmologia, 1665), quoted by Chasles (p. 478) observes that the pentalpha and hexalpha (i.e., the pentagram and hexagram) were the two most common magic sigils. V. The Closing Tau Cross xxviij. Repeat thou the Tau Cross as it was at the beginning. Alchemy calls these divisions the Two Seeds, the Three Principles and the Four Elements. The goal of Alchemy is the One Fruit, the Tincture or Living Gold (from a 1766 Nuremburg MS). xxix. Thou hast made for thyself a Sacred Space ... Re: The Olympic Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram
from admin on 12/20/2016 07:28 PMxvi. Now with thy Staff forge thou the Fiery Ring... Hestia's Burning Circle represents the Protection of the Hearth Fire or Camp Fire. The Eternal Fire of Hestia / Vesta represents Eternal Life (Oxf. Cl. Dict., s.v. Hestia). xvij. Then to the West... Poseidon's Trident represents the Cosmic Tree, as shown by the crossbar below its prongs (Butterworth, Traces, 150), which in turn represent the Tree's three roots: the Sun, Moon and Fire Channels (Pingala-nadi, Ida-nadi, Susumna) in which Prana moves (Butterworth, Tree X). xviij. Then to the North... This is the Torch by which Demeter tried to find Persephone; it illuminated Her odyssey, during which She rode in a chariot conducted by winged serpents. Hades' name may mean "the Unseen" ["(/Aidhs" < "a) idh/s"]. xix. Then draw thou the Fiery Ring back to its beginning... The foregoing invokes Deities of the First Olympian Generation: Jupiter, Vesta, Neptune and Ceres are all children of Saturn and Ops, as are Pluto and Juno. When projecting the Four Weapons through the Pentagrams, the practitioner might find it helpful to make an appropriate gesture: as though throwing a dart for Zeus's Keraunos, as though throwing a frisbee for Hestia's Burning Ring, as though throwing a javelin for Poseidon's Trident, as though throwing a knife for Demeter's Torch.
