Charm Bags

from admin on 12/14/2016 06:05 AM

Making charms for a variety of purposes is both easy and effective. And what's more, it is even fun! Here are a few simple but powerful charms: (Note: All chants are to be said three times, and after the third, conclude with "So Mote it Be!")

Prosperity

For a prosperity charm, for example, take a small bag of green cloth, place three bay leaves and a small piece of lodestone inside, then anoint the outside of the bag with a drop of sweet almond oil. As you anoint the bag, say:

"Fortune smile on me this day,
May all I need come my way."

Do this after the New Moon, and carry the bag on your person every day until the Full Moon, then bury the bag on your own property. (If this is not possible, then in a park or even in a planter.)

Romance

To attract a romantic lover, begin with a small bag of pink or white cloth. Add a piece of rose quartz and fill the remainder of the bag with lavender and pine needles. Anoint the bag with sweet patchouli oil. As you anoint the bag, say:

"By Air, Earth, Fire and Sea,
Bring my one true love to me."

Do this while the moon is waxing, but do not try it between the Full Moon and the New Moon. Sleep with the bag under your pillow until you get results.

Passion

If you are more interested in a passionate lover than a romantic one, follow the above formula, but add a stick of cinnamon and two whole nutmegs to the bag, along with the lavender, and anoint the bag with cinnamon oil. As you anoint the bag, say:

"Blazing passion, my desire,
Come and set my heart on fire."

But be careful what you wish for. You just might get it! Remaining steps are the same as Romance, above.

Protection

To protect oneself from negative energy, take a small white bag; place a small piece of smoky quartz and one of clear quartz inside. Take five leaves of oleander and add them to the bag, being extremely careful not to get any sap on you. If you do come in contact with the sap, remember that it is highly toxic, so wash up immediately and thoroughly. Handling the leaves with rubber gloves is not a bad idea. Anoint the bag with Frankincense oil, saying:

"Minions of the Dark now quit this place,
For only Light will I embrace."

Do this during the waning phases of the Moon, visualizing your surroundings being filled with a pure, white and golden light, driving out any darkness from every corner. At the New Moon, burn the bag, being careful to be upwind of the smoke. Remember: Oleander is deadly. Be very careful!

Health

To attract good health, use a small blue or purple bag. Add a small piece of amethyst, then fill the bag with lavender, white sage and a little St. John's Wort. Anoint the bag with Amber oil, saying:

"Keep my mind and body strong and fit,
Strengthen both my heart and wit."

Do this during the waxing phase of the moon, and sleep with the bag under your pillow at night. This one can be kept as long as necessary, but if you wish to dispose of it, do so with respect, either burning or burying it.

All these Charm Bags may be used in combination with Candle Magick, as well as other methods.

The Center Point (Celtic)

from admin on 12/14/2016 06:05 AM

The Center Point (Celtic)

The Center Point (Celtic)
Airmid

The methods that I use involve putting oneself in the center of the Three Realms, constructed as a triskele. The first is a movement meditation that I call "The Center Point." It involves both movement and a breathing pattern used to time the movement. Breathing is, ideally, timed to the heartbeat. Three each beat is one count. Breathing pattern is to inhale for 3, hold for 1, exhale for 3, hold for 1.

Movement is slow, rhythmic and deliberate. Each movement has its own meaning.

Start standing erect, arms relaxed at your sides.

Close your eyes and relax. Clear your mind, concentrating on your breathing, and listening to your heart beat. Breathe in and out in the 3-1-3-1 pattern three times as you allow yourself to relax.

As you breathe in the fourth time, raise your hands from your sides and cover your heart with your palms, one over the other - you are at the center of the world.

Exhale, moving smoothly to one knee, placing your palms on the ground in front of you - you stand firmly upon the Land.

Inhale as you rise to your feet. As you stand, move your hands behind you as far back as you can comfortably reach at waist or hip height. Your hands should be cupped as though you are holding liquid.

Breathe out, moving your hands in an arc around you until they meet in front of you at about the level of your navel - the Sea always surrounds you.

Breathing in, move your hands back to your sides, holding them slightly away from your hips with your palms flat, facing forward and your fingers spread open.

Exhale as you raise your arms above you in a smooth curve over your head until the tips of your thumbs and index fingers touch -the Sky spreads itself above you.

Inhale again, lowering your hands in front of you until they are once again cupped over your heart - you are at the center of the Three Realms.

Exercises For Elemental Absorption, & Projection

from admin on 12/14/2016 06:04 AM

Our Lady of Enchantment, Magick of Sorcery Course #2
KorenT

This exercise is very important to the art of magickal influencese. It is through the absorption and projection of the elements that certain metaphysical forces are drawn towards manifestation.

Sit comfortably and imagine yourself in the center of a sphere of fire ( nothing exists but you and the sphere). Inhale, imaginiing that this fire is drawn into your body.. Imagine that you are hollow and being filled with fire Keep count of how many breaths (with a string of beads) it takes you to become filled with

fire.

While

you are inhaling an element imagine the desired characteristic which corresponds to it. Mentally fix it and emotionally fix it. Once you have completed this stage, visualize yourself (inside & out) glowing red. Now you are ready to project the element. Exhale upon the object, glowing with it. With each act of exhaling count again with the beads. You must exhale exactly as many times as you

inhaled.

This

is done the same as with Fire except you will inhale air and see yourself as expanding with the Air. You will have the sensation of growing lighter. There will be no temperature

change.

Same

above method. Imagine the sensation of coldness filling you. Become heavy but fluid, feeling the weight of

movement.

Same

manner as the others, Imagine the sensation of weight, feel loose soil pouring in like sand in an hour glass. Do not imagine clay earth as this has water in it. Do not imagine tempeture change.

Absorbing Fire:
2) Absorbing Air:
3) Absorbing Water:
4) Absorbing Earth:

Enjoy the Magick!

Ceramonial Ash

from admin on 12/14/2016 06:03 AM

RECIPE: CEREMONIAL ASH

Phoenix Ash

This ritual creates a ceremonial ash that can be used for a variety of purposes. It is a useful component for spells of elemental Fire, healing and ritual purification. I've also used this ritual for a friend who was dying, to make his passage easier, and ensure a positive reincarnation. (scattering the ashes afterward)

You will need:

A square of paper, decorated on only one side, but no foil or plastic. Origami paper is ideal, but any is suitable provided it is blank on one side.
Pen and ink
Essential oil of frankincense or cinnamon
Matches
A heatproof bowl or cauldron
An envelope to store the ashes

Cast ceremonial circle as appropriate for your magickal system. On the blank side of the paper, draw a sigil for the intent of the spell. If you are just making ash for general use, the intent is just "lend power to my Work." Fold the paper, decorated side out, into an origami crane. Anoint with the oil (a drop or two is sufficient) and place on the heatproof bowl. Ground and center, and fix your intent. Light the match and burn the paper to ash. When the ash is cool enough, gather into the envelope.

Symbolism and Theory: This ritual recreates the death and rebirth of the Phoenix. The crane is the Phoenix, with all the symbolism and powers of the legendary bird. The cinnamon and frankincense compose its funerary nest.

Metal Magick

from admin on 12/14/2016 06:02 AM

METAL MAGICK

Properties of some common metallic elements and their uses for metal Magick in rituals and spells.

ALUMINUM *Projective/Mercury/Air/Male
Aluminum is the most abundant metallic element on the earth and the moon. 8% of the earth's crust is composed of aluminum in some form. Almost all rocks
contain aluminosilicate minerals. The human body also contains traces of aluminum.
Powers Of Aluminum: A conductor of electricity.
Magick Uses: A Modern metal with no Magick history. Aluminum foil can be used to fashion shapes for image Magick.

BOJI STONES *Projective/Mars/Fire/*Akasha
Powers Of Boji Stones: Protection/Healing/Psychic Power
Magickal Uses: Use for grounding and healing by holding the stone in your
hand while visualizing. Use these stones to protect and strengthen your psychic defenses.
Balance: Wear to balance energies within the body

BRASS* Projective/Sun/Fire/Male
Powers Of Brass: Healing/ Money/Protection
Associated Deities: Sun deities
Magick Uses: Brass can be used as a substitute for gold for money attracting
Magick rituals and spells. A simple money attracting talisman that can
easily be made is to inscribe a pentagram on a small piece of brass and carry
it with you at all times. Brass is used for sun Magick and fire Magick
rituals and spells. Sun Magick spells used to attract wealth and money should
be performed at sunrise. Because brass has protective attributes it is used
for defensive Magick to protect and send back negativity to the sender. Brass
jewelry is worn for this purpose during such rituals.

COPPER (Cu/cuprum) Receptive/Venus/Water/Female
The human body contains traces of copper.
Powers Of Copper: Conductor of electricity/Healing/Love/Luck/Protection
Associated Deities: Ishtar, Aphrodite and Astarte, and other Goddesses associated with Venus.
Magick Uses: Copper is used to make wands to direct energy during ritual. It
is also worn during ritual to increase the direction of energy towards the
desired goal. Pure copper is also worn for healing and to prevent sickness.
It is said that copper should be worn on the opposite side of your dominate
hand. For example, if you are right handed then wear copper on your left
side. Because it is associated with the planet Venus it is also worn to
attract love. It is highly effective for attracting love when copper is combined with emeralds.
Balance: Copper has the ability to balance the polarity's of the body, this
is why copper is used to heal and prevent sickness. Copper balances the flow
of energies in the body, both receptive and projective. When a person feels
ill, it is believed that the energies in the body are not in balance or are
blocked and copper is worn to balance these energies and stimulate the
natural healing of the body.
WARNING: In the book, Metalen En Hun Effecten, Roos Leffebure(Dutch), Copper has a physical effect as well as an emotional effect. If worn for too long the physical effect can result in bluish of the skin with a smell, headaches
and an unstable heart rhythm. The emotional effect is like silver, it
produces emotional instability if worn for too long.

ELECTRUM (A mixture of metals)*Projective/Sun/Fire/Male
Powers Of Electrum: To find a natural mixture of metals is rare. Today
electrum is custom made for specific ritual purposes. For example, uniting
the receptive and projective qualities such as when gold and silver are mixed
together or symbolically uniting the God and Goddess.

GOLD (Au/aurum) *Projective/Sun/Fire/Male
Powers Of Gold: Power/Success/Wealth/Strength/Protection/Male Dysfunction
Associated Deities: Sun Gods
Magick Uses: Use for fire Magick, sun Magick, spells and rituals for money
and to increase power, self-confidence and courage. Gold and a white candle
are used for protection spells. Wear gold jewelry or a talisman to attract
success and wealth. Gold worn during a ritual enhances the ability to gather
up and send out power. A substitute for gold to use in money attracting
spells is Pyrite( also known as Fool's Gold)

IRON (Fe/ferrum)*Projective/Mars/Fire/Male
The human body contains traces of iron.
Powers Of Iron: Protection/Healing/Strength
Associated Deities: Selene
Magick Uses: Pure form is found only in Meteorites. Used for defensive Magick
to deflect negativity. Iron stops the flow of psychic energy and is used for
healing the self when one feels emotional wrought or is under psychic attack,.
in this way it deflects negative energy. Iron inscribed with symbolic Mars is
worn for protective and defensive Magick. Also you can take iron nails and
insert them in white or blue candles for protection and defensive Magick. A
talisman of iron is said to increase physical strength. Envisioning a large
iron gate of olde during a protection spell helps to mentally keep negative away.

LEAD (Pb/plumbum)*Receptive/Saturn/Earth/Female
Powers of Lead: Protection
Magick Uses: To be used for defensive and protective Magick to deflect negative energies.
WARNING: Lead is poisonous when absorbed by the body.

LODESTONE (Magnetite/natural magnet/natural iron oxide)*Receptive/Venus/Water/Female
Was used by sailors and mariners to find the magnetic North.
Powers Of Lodestone: To attract love, money, friendship, and power/Protection/Fidelity
Magickal Uses: Lodestone has a natural magnetic quality and the larger the
stone the greater its magnetic powers. It is used for attraction. It can worn
during ritual, or placed on an alter to increase a spell's powers. Lodestone
can also be used for healing by placing the stone on the hurt part of the
body. After the spell or ritual is performed and the stone has absorbed the
negative energies, the stone should be cleaned. It can also be placed in the
receptive hand while performing spells or for emotional healing.

MERCURY (Hg/hydrargyrum)*Duel Energies/Water, Earth, Air/Male/Female
WARNING: Mercury is poisonous! It is dangerous to touch, breath and
accidentally ingest. Use other metals that are safer.

SILVER (Ag/argentum)*Receptive/moon/water/FemalePower Of Silver: Intuition/Emotions/Psychic Mind/Dreams/Love/Protection/Invocation of the Goddess
Associated Deities: Moon Goddesses
Magick Uses: Use for water magick, scrying, divination, dreams, rituals
invoking the Goddess and love and healing spells. Silver reflects negativity
away. Silver influences the psychic mind increasing your chances for psychic
dreams and enhancing intuition. Silver can be used for scrying. Take a piece
of silver with you outside on a full moon and allow the silver to catch the
reflection of the moon. Silver is also associated with the stones, Lapis
Lazuli, Jade, Pearl and Emerald. When one of these stones are used together
with silver as in a piece of jewelry it is used to attract love. Wear silver
to sleep with a stone such as moonstone to enhance psychic dreams.
Balance: If wearing too much silver overwhelms you and makes you emotionally
overwhelmed, try wearing gold with it to balance out.

STEEL*Projective/Mars/Fire/Male
Magick Uses: A modern metal without history of magick use. Since it is a
projective metal it is used today for defensive magick to deflect negative
energies away. Steel knives are used either through visualization or
physically held while visualizing negative impulses and all negative energies
away from yourself. Afterwards take the knife and place it under your
mattress to symbolically serve as protection and to block negative energies
from disturbing your thoughts at night. A steel knife used in this manner is
for symbolism and visualization. Use caution when handling a knife.

TIN (Sn/stannum)*Projective/Jupiter/Air/Male
The main component for Pewter.
Powers Of Tin: Money/ Luck
Magick Uses: Made into money attracting *talismans

ROSE QUARTZ GARNET AND CARNELIAN LOVE SPELL

from admin on 12/14/2016 05:59 AM

Moon phase: Waxing to full

You will need:
Jasmine Incense or Jasmine Essential Oil
Three stones: Rose Quartz, Garnet. Carnelian
Candles: 1 red candle, a few beeswax candles (or whatever you have about your home)

In you bedroom, open your curtains.
If it's warm enough, open your windows and let the moonshine and breezes in.
Light some candles around your bedroom and make yourself comfortable on your bed, placing the unlit red candle on your bedside table.

Hold the stones in your power hand (the one you write with).
Visualize yourself in love; your life enhanced with love, both given and received.

What type of partner do you want to share your days with?
Don't focus on who you want, rather what you want.
Honesty, trust, respect, love. Visualizing yourself with love in your life is a wonderful thing.

Charge the three stones with the emotions you generate and your wish to attract love into your life.

Set the stones around your red candle. Light your candle and let it burn all the way down.

As the candle slowly burns, the energy you charged the stones with is slowly released.

Give thanks and close the Circle.

Honey Jar Spells

from admin on 12/14/2016 05:58 AM

The Honey Jar Spell is one of the oldest in the world. There are so many variations that i call it a "spell family."

In the oldest version that i know, there is actually no "honey-jar," just a plain white cream-saucer in which you burn a candle on the person's name, surrounded by a poured-out ring of syrup. This old-fashioned method has the disadvantage of drawing flies. Another early version employs a hollowed-out red apple or red onion to hold the honey and the name-paper. The apple or onion may be shut up in a tin and a candle burned on the tin's lid -- to it placed in the bottom of a flower pot, with a plant grown on top of it to hide the spell. The plant takes the place of candle, but it radiates the intent of the spell just the same.

As packaged sugars, syrups, and sweeteners became available from grocery stores during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, another variant that developed employed a box of sugar instead of a jar of honey. By the mid 20th century, the honey-jar version of the spell gradually replaced the old cream-saucer, cored apple, hollowed onion, and sugar box versions.

HONEY JAR AND CANDLE SPELL TO SWEETEN SOMEONE TO YOU

This magic spell can be worked on Anyone's name you want to sweeten. Depending on what relationship the person has to you, what special items you put into the name-packet, the colour of candle you choose, and the oil you dress it with, this trick will cause the person you name to like you more, to love you more, to favor your petition, to want to help you, to be sympathetic to your cause, or to forgive any wrongs you have committed. It can be used to influence and sweeten a judge in a court case, a loan officer at the bank, a boss from whom you want a raise, a teacher in your school from whom you want a good grade, a lover with whom you want a reconciliation, an in-law who has been back-biting you, or friend who has cut you off because of a foolish quarrel.

You will need:

a jar of sweetener (see below)
a piece of paper
a pen
optional herbs, curios, and/or bodily concerns
a candle (choose the appropriate colour )
A candle-dressing oil such as olive oil

Get a small jar of sweetener. This can be honey, Karo Syrup, Crystal Syrup, home-made brown sugar syrup, Log Cabin Syrup, Vermont maple syrup, Bre'r Rabbit Black-strap Molasses or whatever you desire -- as long as it is in a container with a metal lid. You can buy the goods in a pint-size glass Mason jar or pour the sweetening of your choice into a jar of your own at home. All that matters is that it should be a short, squat jar with a metal lid, filled up to the shoulder of the jar.

In the old days, when skin colour was a lot more important to people than it is now, it was recommended that the colour of the sweetener match the skin of the person you wanted to sweeten. Thus, for a white judge, you might use Crystal Syrup, and for a Latino loan officer you might use light brown sugar syrup, and for a dark-skinned lover you might use Bre'r Rabbit Black strap Molasses. Frankly, these days specifying a person's skin colour is not as meaningful as it once was (for which we can all be thankful), and today many folks prefer to use honey for the spell, no matter what the target's skin colour is, because it is a natural sweetener and not man-made. I believe that if you just follow your own intuition and decide which sweetener you like the best, you can be confident that you have made the right choice.

Next, prepare your paper. Again, in the old days, we would be told to use white paper for a white person, tan paper for a high-brown, and rough old grocery-bag paper for a person of dark colour, but these days the type of paper you use can simply be a matter of personal style. I use the smooth, tan-coloured light-weight shopping bag paper because that is my choice, based on the way i was taught, which was that such paper is "pure paper" and better than parchment from the art-supply store. I prepare my paper by tearing it neatly on all four sides so there is no machine-cut edge. Of course some folks prefer parchment paper more, and they trim it square with scissors -- and the spell still works for them. So go ahead and prepare your paper just as you wish and that will suffice.

Once you have got your paper together, write the person's name three times on it, one name under the other like so

John Russell Brown
John Russell Brown
John Russell Brown

Then you rotate the paper 90 degrees and write your own name across the person's name, also three times:

Abigail Samantha Little
Abigail Samantha Little
Abigail Samantha Little

The result will be that the two names are crossed over each other, like a cross or a tic-tac-toe grid, and the other person's name will be under yours. This is called crossing and covering their name. If the sweetening is being done for love, you can use a red ink pen. Otherwise, the colour of the ink does not matter.

Now all around the crossed names, write your specific wish in a circle. If you need a guideline, lightly sketch the circle-shape with a pencil and then follow around it when writing with your ink pen. You must write your wish in one continuous run of script letters, with no spaces -- AND WITHOUT LIFTING YOUR PEN FROM THE PAPER. Do not cross your T's or dot your i's. Just write the words in one run and be sure to join up the end of the last word with the beginning of the first word so the circle is complete. Then you can go back and cross your T's and dot your i's. To make it easy to connect the word together at the end, i have found it best to make my petition in the form of short commands, such as "help me favor me help me favor me" or "love me love me love me" or "forgive me come back forgive me come back."

If you make a mistake -- for instance, if you lift your pen in the middle of writing your petition-circle -- throw away the paper and start it all over again. You want it to be perfect.

Other ingredients can be added to the name-paper if you wish -- two rose petals for a love spell, a lump of sugar for a family member, two clove buds for friendship, bayberry root or sassafras root for a money spell, a pair of Adam-and-Eve roots for love, two small Lodestones for sexuality, a pinch of deer's tongue leaves for a proposal of marriage, a square of camphor for cleaning out bad things of the past, and so forth.

If you are sweetening someone for love, then in addition to the name-paper and whatever optional herbs, roots, or minerals you choose, you must also get one of the person's hairs and one of your hairs. If the hairs are long enough, tie them together. Otherwise, just lay them crosswise to each other. In either case, place them on the name-paper. Don't ask me what to do if you can't get their hairs 'cause i can't help with that. Either work the spell without the hairs and expect a much lower rate of success or get the hairs! Don't load the paper up with lots of other stuff thinking that if you can't get the hairs that six different love-herbs and two lodestones will be as strong as two hairs. They won't be.

Fold the paper toward you to bring what you want your way and speak aloud your wish as you do so. Turn the paper and fold it again, and again, always folding toward you, to bring what you want your way. Speak aloud your wish each time you fold the paper toward you. Fold it until it will not fold any more.

Open the jar of honey or syrup. To make room for the folded paper packet, you will need to eat some of the contents. Take out a spoon's worth, and as you eat it, say, "As this honey [or syrup] is sweet to me, so will i become sweet to John Russell Brown [or the name of the person you are working this on]." You can do this three times -- taking out three small spoonful of sweetener and speaking your wish aloud each time. Push the folded paper packet down into the jar and close up the lid.

Dress an offertory candle (a 50 cent, 6" long candle or a 25 cent 4" long one, nothing fancy) with an appropriate anointing oil, or use Special Oil No. 20, which is specifically indicated in this type of spell. Use a white candle for general blessing and healing, a red one for sexual love, a pink one for reconciliation, a brown one for a court case, and s o forth. (For a longer list of colour symbolism, see the page on candle magic.)

Stand the candle on the lid of the closed-up jar and light it. You can melt the candle to the lid with hot wax if need be.

Let the candle burn all the way out. Do this every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, for as long as it takes. Add teach new candle on top of the remains of the last one. I have seen people's syrup-jar spells like this done for court cases that were continued for so long and required so many candles that you could not see the jar under all the dripped-on wax!

A HONEY JAR SPELL TO GET CHILD SUPPORT FROM A BABY'S DADDY

Many women who are faced with a situation where their baby's father will not pay child support try to hurt the man, or rule him, or control him, but there is a better way, and that is to cause him to WANT to pay what the law says he must pay -- and to love his baby while he pays, as well.

To work the sweet side of a case like this, you can make a honey jar on the mama, the baby and the daddy -- all of them in one honey jar. Try to get something personal from each individual -- a hair, for instance. If the daddy is estranged or lives far away, his hair may be hard to capture, but do try to get it -- and if that won't be possible, then get his handwriting, or something he touched, like maybe a fiber from a stuffed animal that he gave to the child.

Put the personal items in a name paper with the mama and the daddy names written 9 times each, side by side in two columns (because they are no longer a couple) and the baby name crossed over both, holding them all together. Then, around and around the names write: "We are family, forever and in all ways, and let no one put this family asunder."

Next, in the corners of the paper, draw four eye-shapes, but just the outlines with no eye-lashes or iris and pupil in the centers. Now, inside each eye-shape, draw a heart (one heart in each eye-shape) and inside each heart, write a dollar sign. Then, using the eye-shapes as a guide, write, in very tiny letters, like the eye-lashes of the eyes, top and bottom, the words "PAY CHILD" (on the top line) and "SUPPORT" (on the bottom). If you do it neatly, it'll look like an eye is in each corner with a heart for the iris of each eye and a dollar sign for the pupil of each eyeball, and the words "PAY CHILD SUPPORT" as the eyelashes of each eye. The meaning of this symbol in each corner is GOD IS WATCHING YOU (the eye shape) -- SO LOVE THE CHILD (the heart) AND PAY THE MONEY (the dollar sign).

After you have prepared the paper, dress it with Patchouli oil and put it in a honey jar as explained above. Use a green candle for money or a pink one for the father to care more for the child, and dress it with Pay Me Oil.

Pay me oil (one version)

Visualization

Visualization is the process of forming positive thoughts as a means of creating wellness.

Initial uses of visualization in healing were investigated, developed and pervaded the thought of the ancient mystery schools. The earliest records go as far back as the ancient Babylonians and Sumerians. A common thread intertwined in the developing thought was a belief in the power of spirit over matter and mind over body and the intrinsic healing capabilities possible. Records of ancient Egypt and Babylonia, through the middle ages and right up to modern times, include accounts of healing, that utilize visualization in one form or another.

Among the forty-two books of Hermes, considered to be the earliest-known founder of the art of healing, there are six which are medical, classified as the Pastophorus or "image-bearers." In the Middle-Ages, Paracelsus (14931541) devoted his entire life to the study of Hermetic healing. Many remarkable cures are ascribed to him. Although the medical fraternity of the times maligned him, he was adored by the masses and extolled on his tombstone: "Here lies buried Philip Theophastus the famous Doctor of Medicine who cured Wounds, Leprosy, Gout, Dropsy and other Incurable Maladies of the Body, with wonderful Knowledge and gave his goods to be divided and distributed to the Poor."

The Essenes, early Christian mystics who are considered the progenitors of modern Freemasonry, were also healers of this order. According to Manly Palmer Hall, the name "Essene" is derived from an ancient Syrian word meaning "physician." The Essenes are believed to have held as their purposes of existence the healing of mind, soul, and body.

Visualization is the mental creation of a visual image of the desired goal. Though we call it visualization, if done in vivid detail there may also be sounds, smells, and tactile sensations developed in the picture. It is only done well if we are already accomplished in the art of concentration. Doing visualization regularly can assist in developing strong concentration. That is, the practice of visualization brings benefits no matter what your level of accomplishment.

Visualization is literally the enlistment of the aid of the Cosmos in achieving our life change. It is not just a motivator, though it will do that. It is not just a way of getting in touch with the subconscious, though it does that too. It is a tool, which the user soon finds verges on the miraculous in accomplishing tasks thought impossible before. It enlists powers which conventional science and psychology do not at the current time admit exist.

The successful practitioner of visualization will soon find doors opening for no clear reason. Apparently unconnected events will become manifest and make realizing the dream possible. The unconvinced will become suddenly enamored of an idea, and the unavailable will become receptive. Visualization is a powerful tool and one well worth mastering.
